It’s that time of year again, and what is better than a refreshing smoothie to quench your thirst?

No matter if I am making a smoothie for my kids, myself, or friends, I always add Baobab Powder to the mix, because it is a nutrient dense superfruit packed with Vitamin C, PREbiotic fiber, minerals, and antioxidants. It also tastes great and is a raw, vegan, gluten-free, function food, ideal for smoothies. The following smoothie recipes are some of my favorite and are a must try:

Whipped Baobab Shake

¼ cup Baobab Superfruit Powder
2 cups water
1 cup rice milk
1 Tbsp honey

In a large bowl whisk together baobab powder and water until the powder dissolves. Whisk in milk and honey. Adjust the amount of honey if you would like a sweeter drink. A garnish of mint leaves makes it quite refreshing.

he Ultimate Smoothie
1 banana

beet

½ of a raw beet
½ of an apple
1 Tablespoon raw chocolate
a handful of kale
2 cups rice milk
3 Tablespoons Baobab Powder
5 ice cubes
a small piece of raw ginger

Blend all ingredients on high speed for 1 minute. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!

The addition of Baobab Powder to your smoothies can really fast track your digestive wellness and provide lots of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Even though Baobab Superfruit Powder has a slightly sweet taste, it is low in sugar and has less than 1 gram of fat in a half cup of powder. I highly recommend it!
