Baobab Chocolate Chip Cookie Gift Jars

Can you guess the secret ingredient? We bet your recipient won’t either!

Baobab Chocolate Chip Cookie Jars

Ingredients for each jar:

  • 1 – 32 Ounce Mason Jar
  • 1 3/4 cups of All-Purpose Flour
  • 3/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3/4 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 tbsp Atacora Baobab Powder
  • 3/4 cup of packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup of granulated White Sugar
  • 1.5 cups of Milk/Dark Chocolate Chips

To make the cookie jar gifts: Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Place the flour mixture in the bottom of a 32 ounce glass mason jar. Layer the remaining ingredients in the order listed above, pressing firmly after each layer. We like to end with the chocolate chips! Seal the jar and attach the following simple recipe with decorative string or ribbon.

Additional ingredients Needed by the Recipient to Make the Cookies:

  • 3/4 cup of Softened Butter
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 3/4 tsp Vanilla Extract

Preheat oven to 375° F. Beat 3/4 cup softened butter, 1 large egg and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until blended. Add cookie mix and mix well, breaking up any clumps. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Vegan & Gluten-Free Baobab Chocolate Chip Cookie Jars

Ingredients for each jar:

  • 1 – 32 Ounce Mason Jar
  • 2.5 cups of Almond Meal/Flour
  • 1 tbsp Atacora Baobab Powder
  • 2 tbsp Coconut Flour
  • 2/3 cup Coconut Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 cup Vegan Milk/Dark Chocolate Chips

To make the cookie jar gifts: Layer each dry ingredient in the a 32 ounce glass mason jar in whatever order you see fit! We like to end with the chocolate chips! Seal the jar and attach the following simple recipe with decorative string or ribbon.

Additional ingredients Needed by the Recipient to Make the Cookies:

  • 6 tbsp of melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup of plant based milk of choice

To prepare the cookies, preheat your oven to 350° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Empty the contents of the jar into a large mixing bowl. Stir in the coconut oil and milk of choice (optional: 1 tsp of vanilla). Mix well until a sticky batter is formed. Use a tablespoon to scoop the dough and drop it onto a baking sheet. Make sure to flatten the cookies to your desired shape as they will not rise when baking. Bake for approximately 12-13 minutes.
